I'm saved! I know that without a doubt, but the one question I haven't been able to answer with certainty is this: Is He Lord of my life? What does it mean to make him Lord of your life? What do I have to give up? What is God looking for?
Just like you, I sometimes catch myself going through the motions of following Christ. When I do, I ask myself these piercing questions: Am I willing to give my life completely over to God? Am I willing to do something radical? Am I willing to sacrifice for Him?
3 And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it4 But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted? 5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply.
6 But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me. 78 She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial. 9 Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.” on His head. For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always.
THAT, my friends, is extravagant worship! Extravagant love! Wow! It's not worrying about what people think of you! Oh God, that I would be willing to pour my life out as an offering of worship to you! Help me to be moved by this story to give my life to you-COMPLETELY! After all you've done for me...wow! Help me be a wonderful fragrance of worship to you!
